The typical production process means, that all required Components (purchased Parts or semi-products, manufactured by own resources) should be moved (physically transferred) from Inventory Cells or/and from another Production Cells to one specific Production Cell where they will be really used. Here, the Components will be Reserved for specific Production Order and Issued automatically afterward. The possibility to move Components from any Inventory Addresses to the specific Production Cell is provided by "Move Parts" functionality (moving Components one-by-one) and by "Internal Shipment" functionality (transferring at the same time the list of Components). The possibility to Reserve Components using Batches, already stored in the proper Production Cell explicitly specified for Production Order, is always provided. The possibility to Reserve Components for Production Orders from Inventory in such case should be prohibited by system parameter "Reserve Production Orders from Inventory" = Disabled.
Sometimes, Production Managers prefer to have the possibility to Reserve Components using not only Batches already stored at proper Production Cell explicitly specified for Production Order, but also using available Batches currently stored in Inventory (for example, when the possibility to keep all required Components in production area is limited by available space and there is possibility to transfer quickly any required Components from warehouse to production area). In such case, it is recommended to allow to Reserve Components for Production Orders from Inventory also using system parameter "Reserve Production Orders from Inventory" = Enabled. BUT, the possibility to Issue automatically already reserved Batches for Production Order depends from “Issue Method” specified individually for each specific Component:
