The Components List of Product Structure can contain any number of Components.  The new Component Line can be added into Components List only when Product Structure has a “Draft” or “ApprovedStatus.  The Part Number and Quantity per Unit should be specified for each Component.  If Inventory Part at the Component Line has a “ManufacturedType and own Product Structure, then the Component Modification and Version can be specified for Component explicitly.  Otherwise the Default Modification and active approved Version for the proper Period will be used automatically during Planning.  The Component Modification and Version are not required when the selected Inventory Part has a “PurchasedType.

If Routing is specified for the Product Structure, then any Operation from this Routing can be optionally assigned for any Component in the Components List.  If the Operation for the Component Line is specified explicitly, then the corresponding purchase or production activity can be scheduled more precisely using planned Start Date for Operation (otherwise the Start Date of Production Order will be used for planning).
